Our History
Founded by Benalto, Alberta native Jimmy Lawrence, Complete Athlete has provided Central Alberta, and more specifically, Sylvan Lake, with hockey specific training since 2009.Â
Complete Athlete has operated as an on-ice development institution providing young hockey players with the opportunity to grow their games with attentive, high level, and technical coaching. In the early 2010s, Complete Athlete ran a performance center for dryland training featuring a skating treadmill, synthetic ice surfaces, indoor turf, and training equipment.
Complete Athlete has hosted successful programs including summer ice, spring hockey teams, 4-on-4 tournaments, flash event camps, and many more for over 17 years.
In October 2025, Jimmy Lawrence sold Complete Athlete to Braden Bystrom, and Nic Herrebrugh, two former students of his. Braden and Nic look to continue to provide the same level of dedication to athletic development that customers expect from Complete Athlete.
